Public Works Supervisor, Village of Hanover, Jo Daviess County, State of Illinois

Reporting to the Village President, the successful candidate will be responsible for the directing, managing and actively participating in all aspects of the Village’s Public Works operation. This includes, but is not limited to, short and long-term strategic planning of the the Public Works function; organizing, scheduling, directing and working hands on with the day-to-day activities of the Public Works staff; ensuring the successful maintenance of the Village infrastructure including parks, recreational fields, public buildings, vehicles and equipment; and hands on working and oversight of Village services including ice and snow removal, brush and leaf collection; road maintenance, meter reading and operation of the Village Sewer and Water departments and limited responsibility for the operation of the Village owned electrical utility system.

Qualified candidates must have municipal Public Works experience, managerial and leadership skills, and the ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with the public, vendors and other Village, County and State of Illinois personnel. Candidates must get a Class C Water and Sewer license and a valid Class B State of Illinois driver license. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Full-time Maintenance Worker

The Village of Hanover, Jo Daviess County, Illinois, has an opening for a full-time maintenance worker position. The hired individual will perform routine to skilled manual and maintenance work on the Village streets, alleys, equipment, water, wastewater, buildings, ground and parks, and perform related duties as required. Some night, weekend and overtime hours may be required.

A minimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED and a valid Class B driver’s license. The applicant needs to be 18 years of age or older and be willing to submit to a routine background check.
